Move & Meditate; Dance to Heal

An experiential workshop exploring the relationship between the body, movement, breathing, emotions, and the nervous system. Through a combination of accessible science-based education and mindful movement practices, we explore body awareness, interoception, proprioception, neuromuscular coordination, breathing, movement patterns, and autonomic nervous system regulation.

This is not about fixing the body or finding one “correct” way to move. Instead, we begin by learning to notice, sense, and understand the body, then explore movement, breath, rhythm, and attention with greater curiosity and awareness.

Food as Medicine

Food is more than calories. What we eat provides the building blocks and signals our bodies need to produce energy, maintain muscle, support the gut microbiome, regulate metabolism, and protect our health. But healthy eating doesn’t have to mean following the latest diet or giving up everything we enjoy.

In this session, we step back from food rules and learn how to build a nourishing, balanced way of eating based on whole foods, variety, fibre, protein, healthy fats, and plenty of plants. Most importantly, we explore how to make healthy eating realistic and enjoyable in everyday life.

Stress; From Survival to Balance

Stress is not always the enemy. Our stress response is a sophisticated biological system that helps us respond to challenges, stay alert, and adapt. The problem arises when the body remains in a state of stress for too long, without enough opportunities for recovery and regulation.

In this session, we explore what happens in the brain and body when we experience stress, including the nervous system and the HPA axis. More importantly, we move beyond simply being told to “stress less.” We learn practical ways to recognize our own stress signals and build a personal Nervous System Toolkit to support regulation, recovery, and resilience.
